Free Before-and-After Photo Maker for Repairs and Renovations
Put two project photos into one clear comparison. This free before-and-after photo maker gives you a side-by-side image with crop controls, labels, a choice of borders and an optional logo. Download a PNG or JPG without creating an account.
Your photos are processed in your browser by this tool. They are not sent to The Handyman Hub when you select them. If you later share or upload the downloaded comparison, the service you choose may handle that file under its own terms.
Make a comparison that shows the work fairly
- Photograph the area before work starts. Take the finished photo from approximately the same position and height.
- Add both photos above. Choose which photo to crop, then zoom or drag until the important details line up.
- Choose labels and a border, add a logo if you want one, and select a download size.
- Save a PNG for a crisp image or a JPG for a smaller file. Check the downloaded file before sending it to a customer or posting it.
The tool works especially well for decorative repairs, decorating, flooring and room makeovers. For a small worktop repair, show enough of the surrounding surface in both shots that the result is easy to judge. See our worktop repair guide for an example of the kind of cosmetic work you might document. You can also use our free trade tools directory to plan the job itself.
Frequently asked questions
Are my photos uploaded to the site?
No. Selecting photos processes them in your browser. The images are used there to make the comparison and downloadable file.
Can I crop photos of different sizes?
Yes. Select each photo in the crop controls and adjust its zoom and position separately. Start with photos taken from the same angle for the most honest comparison.
Can I add a business logo?
Yes. Upload an optional logo, then choose its position, size and opacity. A transparent PNG tends to blend into a photo more neatly than a logo with a solid white background.
Can I use the image on social media or in a quote?
You can download the comparison and decide where to share it. Make sure you have permission to publish the photos, especially if they show a customer, their home or identifying details.
